3D Printed Toys: Puzzles, Figures & Construction Sets
We will print a safe, bright toy for your kid: personalized, themed, unique. Dinosaurs, cars, characters — or something completely custom. We use PLA — a corn starch based material, odorless and free of harmful components. All edges are rounded, parts are large and comfortable for small hands. Safety comes before looks, and the rules here are clear. Nothing that breaks off into a small piece suits a child under three: we do not print thin pins or fragile mounts for that age group, and we will say so if we see such a model. Sharp corners get rounded and support marks cleaned off. PLA itself is made from plant feedstock, but a printed surface is porous — we do not recommend a toy that goes in the mouth, whatever the material. A separate and very common job is a part for a toy you already own. A wheel off a toy car, a figure from a set, a gear in an activity board, the missing brick from a construction kit. It costs less than you would think: small volume, twenty minutes of printing. Bring the broken pieces or send a photo next to a ruler and we will reproduce it.

3D printed toys for kids are not just plastic things. They are a way to make exactly what your child wants. Son got into dinosaurs? We will print a whole set — T-Rex, triceratops, pterodactyl, each in its own color. Daughter loves unicorns? We will make one with her name on the base. Kid is a Minecraft fan? We will print a creeper, sword and pickaxe. We work in Riga and fulfill these orders regularly.
Safety is the first thing we think about. We print with PLA — a biodegradable plastic made from corn starch. It is non-toxic, odorless, and certified for food contact. All toys are designed with the child's age in mind: large parts (so they cannot be swallowed), rounded edges, strong joints. For the very young, we make solid figurines without small elements.
Educational toys are a separate category. Puzzles with letters and numbers, geometric sorters, blocks with raised patterns, mazes, gears that actually spin. These toys entertain and teach at the same time — and most importantly, they can be personalized. A puzzle with the child's name, a sorter shaped like their favorite animal, a construction set with parts sized just right.
Printing a toy usually takes 1–2 days. Colors are bright and lasting — PLA does not fade or wear off with normal use. If a toy breaks (kids will be kids) — we will print a replacement quickly and affordably. Delivery across Riga, or you can pick up in person. - Is the toy safe for a child?
- It depends on the age and the model. Under three we rule out anything that breaks off into a small piece, round the corners and clean off support marks. We do not recommend toys that go in the mouth: a printed surface is porous and cannot be fully cleaned.
- A part broke off a toy we own — can you reproduce it?
- Usually yes, and it is one of the most common requests. Bring the broken pieces or send a photo with a ruler. A small part prints in about twenty minutes and is priced accordingly.
- Which material for children's toys?
- PLA for most: rigid, bright, made from plant feedstock. PETG where the toy will be dropped and washed more often. FLEX for soft elements such as wheels or bumpers.
- Can you print parts for a construction kit?
- Dimensionally compatible ones, yes, given a file or a sample to measure. Fit accuracy is limited by a tolerance of about ±0.2 mm, so we print one test element first and check how it holds.
